ANGRY HEART YOGA –
A workshop on how to acknowledge, express, and release your anger through yoga and meditation
Cost is $25 in advance / $30 day of workshop
Do you hold anger in your heart? Maybe it’s time to let that go. Before you can allow love into your life, you must learn to love yourself. I invite you to join me for a different type of Yoga Workshop: Angry Heart Yoga: A Workshop on how to acknowledge, express, and release your anger through Yoga and Meditation. Let’s face it; not everyone is happy all the time. Sometimes in our hearts we hold bitterness, resentment, hurt, anger. I invite you to join me to open your heart, let these negative emotions go, and begin your healing process. This workshop will be 90 minutes, divided into a 10 minute Dharma talk about heartbreak and self love. Then we will do 90 minutes of Asana to allow for physical release. The music that the Vinyasa will be done to will be all those angst ridden and angry love songs that you may relate to. The last 20 minutes of the experience will be a Yoga Nidra, complete with calming and healing lavender oil. Soothing sounds will be played as you fall into your deeprelaxation. It is my hope that you emerge from this workshop renewed, refreshed, calm, and on your way to a happy heart. Bio: Ilene Elizabeth Feldman completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Body Art Studio in Chester, NY, studying under Michelle Dawson and Ben Wisch, as well as guest teachers Ragunath (Ray Capo), Manorama, and Michael Stein (of Ashtanga New Paltz) and is registered teacher with the National Yoga Alliance. An almost life-long practitioner of Yoga, Ilene took her first Yoga class in Middle School. That first class made quite an impression and she became an instant devotee! Ilene has now been practicing Yoga for over two decades, taking classes across many genres of Yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, Jivamukti, Restorative, Iyengar, Heated Vinyasa, and Bikram, before coming to what seemed like a destined decision to become a certified Yoga Teacher, specializing in the Vinyasa Flow style of Yoga. Ilene originally looked to Yoga as a means of physical fitness, butafter being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at the age of 23, found that Yoga had benefits that extended far beyond the physical. Ilene has since turned to her mat with the knowledge that practicing Yoga is fitness for both mind and body, something she hopes to incorporate into each Yoga class she teaches. Ilene hopes to share with her students her true love and compassion for Yoga, guiding them through a practice that balances stillness and movement, meditation and music, focus and fun. Ilene is soon to complete her 500 hour certification with Raji Thron of Yoga Synthesis in Ramsey, NJ. Ilene also has knowledge and expertise in many areas of fitness, health, and wellness training. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Wagner College, and completed post-graduate work including a Masters of Science in Education from Hofstra University. We sometimes lose sight of this force…where there is suffering, too much pain. And suddenly the spirit will emerge…through lives of ordinary people, and answer in extraordinary ways. God speaks in the silence of the heart and we listen.”Mother Theresa Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of ‘life force energy’ to improve health and enjoy a good quality of life. The word “Rei” means universal higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness. The word “Ki” means the same as Chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskrit and Ti in Hawaiian, which is life force energy or universal life force. This is the non-physical energy that animates all living beings. The existence of ‘life force energy’ has been verified by recent scientific experiments, and medical doctors are considering the role it plays in the functioning of the body, the immune system and the healing process in humans. Reiki is an amazingly simple, yet powerful technique that can be easily learned by anyone. The ability to use Reiki is transferred from a Reiki Master to a student during an attunement process. During the attunement, the Rei or Universal Consciousness makesadjustments in the student’s chakras and energy pathways to accommodate the ability to channel Reiki and then links the student to the Reiki source. The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience for most people. A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, mind, emotions and soul and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method to cultivate spiritual knowledge and self-improvement that everyone can use. These two classes offered are easy to learn and provide a necessary foundation of knowledge and practice for a complete Reiki training, for its use and benefit. They are structured and based on the Usui/Tibetan system. Colby and Ray are both Usui and Karuna Reiki Masters and Teachers and have been practicing Reiki and other powerful forms ofenergy therapies since 2007. They have been working closely with a master spiritual teacher since 2008, and look forward to assisting you on this exciting and inspiring step forward on your path! Ongoing….
